Together with our colleagues from the Malaysian Society of Rheumatology, I bid everyone a warm welcome to Singapore for this year's edition of our Rheumatology Workshops, the 14th in the series. We are very happy to be hosting this year's event and I look forward to meeting friends and seeing old ones.
For two groups of people to hold the same event year after year 14 times means that there must be something special about the people, or the meeting, or both. I believe that the latter is true. Indeed, there is a lot of collaboration and conversation between the Rheumatologists of both countries.
This year's theme "Expert Management of the Rheumatic Diseases" is apt as renowned Rheumatologists who will share their experience and knowledge with us. We have an excellent line-up of speakers this year with Dr Desiree van der Heijde, Dr Leonard Calabrese, Dr Edward Keystone and Dr Neil McGill.
Dr Chong Yong Yeow and the Organising Committee have done exemplary work to ensure that we will be well taken care of, intellectually, physically and gastronomically. We also acknowledge the pharmaceutical industry which has our generously supported our educational activities.
