The Association for Psychological Type International (APTi) is the international membership organization for professional users of personality type and assessments such as Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI®) Tool. Psychological Type is the study of personality development originated by C. G. Jung.
APTi started in Philadelphia, in the fall of 1979. On Thursday, October 18th, Type enthusiasts from around the country and the world met at the third MBTI Conference. That evening, Peter B. Meyers announced the members of the constitution committee and the nominating committee. Katherine D. Myers presented the Interest Area Coordinators to those assembled before their individual meetings.
