The conference, which is the sixth in a series of lectures , each of which focuses on an aspect of the history of Italian archives , will try to answer a series of questions focusing on the relationship between archives and society in the Italian states between the Middle Ages and Modern Age . What was the production staff and the care of the cards ? And how it was divided to
internally ? By notaries of Italian municipalities to the most organized archives of the modern age, several
categories of personnel
 -
such as notaries, clerks, secretaries, archivists but also real , and so on.
 -
have contributed to the different phases of the construction and collection of the archives ? What role did these officers in the society of the time? What kind of social background ?
The use
at the Court ensured a social promotion ? And what education they received the different categories of secretaries and clerks ? From Florence to Venice, known examples of humanist chancellors shows that some of them stood out for their literary and intellectual qualities , and not just strictly professional and technical . in either
 well these republics the organization
of the employees of the registry was regulated by specific internal rules , and Venice status even organized their training. here u
na legislation accurately determined elements as the term of office or
the division of labor between the different officers, but there were not even the interests of socio- political , such as kinship or
membership cert
groups in power . In the dominions, on the contrary the importance given to the role of secretaries, favored the development of relationships of a

Interpersonal between the prince and the secretary , therefore, chosen for its membership in the group of his most trusted advisors , as well as its political and administrative capacity . On a purely social level you can compare these two realities ? And according to what terms? What, moreover , the differences between the staff of the registries and archives of
and the kingdoms of Italy
South , compared to that of contemporary institutional entities
of communal and
lordships of north-central ? Much has been made of the transition from a model in which the staff of the Registry was mainly composed of officers from the training notary or humanities , to another characterized rather by the need to find officials who would respond first of all to
request of the central government to have a faithful and loyal staff . The occasion of this conference will be
also good to take stock of these issues.
On the other hand , the intention is to use those documents to document the cultural education
and cultural interests of the Registrars : poems , little squiggles blanks from secretaries bored on margins or card guard logs reveal the
' inclination
cultural and the world
 author's personal .
