In a complimentary webinar, leading industry experts will review cross margining and asset segregation models available ahead of the CCP clearing mandate under EMIR.

With central clearing of OTC derivatives around the corner, financial institutions need to map out an action for how to manage the post-trade processing of cleared derivatives. Given the significant increase in margin required to support CCP clearing, buy-side firms, corporates and regional banks need to focus first on establishing efficient margin management and asset protection plans to reduce the overall cost and operational burden to the firm. There are collateral management services and tools available, such as cross margining and asset segregation models, but the suitability of such services are unclear to firms who are new to CCP clearing and its demands.

In a webinar, a panel of experts to firstly explore how cross margining operates, the challenges and benefits of adopting a margin efficiency strategies. The panel will also explain the various asset segregation models available under EMIR and debate the advantages and disadvantages of all. Attendees will gain insight into the inner works of both cross margining and asset segregation as needed to support their own strategic plans as they prepare to centrally clear OTC derivatives.

The panel will review some of the following topics:

What cross margining looks like and how it operates?
The pros and cons of cross margining and alternative margin efficiency strategies available?
How to assess whether cross margining is right for your firm?
What are the asset segregation requirements under EMIR?

What an efficient and optimised collateral management workflow looks like for cleared derivatives?
