Fibre-reinforced polymer composites (FRPs) are becoming a considered choice of material when it comes to many structures, not least because of their proven durability and low maintenance properties, but also due to their high strength-to-weight characteristics and design flexibility.
FRPs are used in a wide range of structures, including wind, aerospace, construction and mass transit. Composites Innovation 2014 aims to showcase material and manufacturing developments in FRPs by presenting the best quality research and technological innovations alongside detailed application case studies.
This 2 day conference will provide a forum for the exchange of information on the challenges and successes of using FRP composite materials in a range of structures.
Call for Papers
The conference is aimed at designers, manufacturers, material suppliers, engineers, technicians and universities. Alongside the presentations will be a poster session and exhibition in order to show as much as possible the current state of development and the challenges for the future.
Conference topics - to include (but not limited to):
Advances in materials
• High performance composites
• Material systems for fast manufacture
• Sustainable Manufacturing Systems
• Robotics and Automation
• Rapid Prototyping, Tooling and Manufacture
• Supply chain management
Advances in design
• Modelling and prediction of performance in service
• Improved property analysis
• Large blades for renewable energy supply
• Aircraft wing structures
