Student leaders and diversity advocates are invited to attend this regional student conference. This regional conference is designed for high school students to engage in activities that will develop their leadership skills and advocacy for diversity and inclusion programming in their schools. Participants will explore elements of their own identities as well as learning tools for cross-cultural understanding. The curriculum will be interactive and innovative, geared towards developing change agents. This could be great follow up to SDLC 2013, or a way to connect with this work for those students who were unable to attend SDLC 2013. Adult chaperones will have the opportunity to participate in a 2-hour workshop, “Diversity and the Learning Brain,” led by the director of the Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning.
