From September 11-13th, 2014 the First Annual Fossetcon will be held at the Rosen Plaza Hotel in sunny Orlando, FL for three days of training and speeches from

September 11, 2014(Thursday) is Day 0 of Fossetcon is dedicated to hands on workshops, training, certifications and in-depth tutorials so space is limited.

September 12th will open up 8am with a brief breakfast and coffee, followed by a general session which will include a Welcoming speech and other keynote speeches; the Exhibit Hall will open shortly afterwards for your perusal. Fossetcon will have talks scheduled throughout September 12th and September 13th from 10am until 7pm as well as an open Exhibit Hall.

Registration for Fossetcon is not currently open but it will open soon! If you are interested in speaking at Fossetcon check back later for when our Call For Papers opens up.

Rosen Plaza Hotel Orlando is located on the world famous International Drive within walking distance to the newly renovated Pointe Orlando entertainment complex. Pointe Orlando is an open-air shopping, dining and entertainment center with more than 40 specialty retailers, delicious restaurants, and exciting entertainment create a vibrant, eclectic experience. With towering palm trees, shaded areas, and fountains, you will enjoy the tropical and relaxing feel of Pointe Orlando.

Fossetcon is not a GNU/Linux conference, nor is it a *BSD conference. Fossetcon can be more described as a *nix(Unix like) conference that focuses primarily on Free and Open Source Software and the systems that run it - whether it be hardware or software.

We are calling all FOSS, FLOSS and OSS Developers, Students, Teachers, Systems Administrators, Hardware Hackers, Enthusiasts, Newbies and Trolls(trolls need love too) to come out and participate in Fossetcon 2014 in Orlando, FL.

Fossetcon aims to provide the community with the needed resources of training, knowledge and collaborative efforts to aid our community in all of our endeavours. If you're looking to elevate your career path or even get access to free training and certifications then we are willing to provide it. We're looking for speakers, volunteers and hackers to help engage our communities by providing a venue full of like minded individuals.

Expect Fossetcon to be a FUN event full of diverse people, forward thinkers and great companies that all contribute to free software and the communities surrounding it.

Fossetcon 2014 is a 3 day event that has the following format:

Call for Papers and speaker registration are both OFFICIALLY OPEN.

Submit your speech for Fossetcon 2014 at the link below. Call for papers closes June 15, 2014 August 3, 2014, our CFP has been extended due to the lack of speaker diversity. We're hoping to have a more diverse pool of speaker(attendees too).

Certain talks will be approved well ahead of time if the speakers is being considered for a Keynote, etc.

Please be aware that the CFP HAS will be been extended we haven't fulfilled certain board guidelines such as speaker diversity, relevant content and or lack of submissions. We aim to have an interesting variety of speakers and topics. Please submit your talk to Fossetcon 2014 and we'll be sure to review your proposal.
