Centre for Science Education, Aarhus University will be hosting the conference:Frontiers in Science Education (Frontiers 2014) - Transforming Education with Technology
CSE invites you to the Frontiers 2014
The Frontiers 2014 conference deals with one of the most fundamental goals of our common workplace: to develop education at the highest level. Therefore this conference is relevant for teachers at all career levels, degree programme coordinators, heads of studies/study boards, university management and the many administrative colleagues who work with this core activity on a regular basis.
Intelligent use of IT in teaching improves our education and our daily working conditions. We get more effective teaching, increased possibilities for educational differentiation, more time for research, etc. This makes us better prepared for some of the great challenges ahead, e.g. the national progress reform (fremdriftsreformen) and the university accreditation process.
An abundance of knowledge
That is why you should allocate your time on Wednesday 11 June to participate in Frontiers 2014 where we will present you with an abundance of knowledge on how technology can transform and improve our teaching and the organisation of our education. The programme offers e.g.:
Interesting and inspiring presentations from around the world and from local AU collagues
Official opening of an innovative and multidisciplinary, online learning and research universe
International publisher houses who present their offers and initiatives within this field
Dean of Science and Technology, Niels Chr. Nielsen, will say a few words of welcome, and rector Brian Bech Nielsen and the newly appointed pro-rector, Berit Eika, will also be contributing to the late afternoon session.
Go even further
The programme for Thursday 12 June allows for those with a special interest in Educational IT to go even further by focusing particularly on:
Workshops on Blackboard, PeerWise, curriculearn.dk, and MOOCs as a driver for "on-campus blended learning"
A presentation by two professors from Edinburgh, who will share their experience with the planning and the running of a MOOC.
We look forward to seeing as many colleagues as possible at the Frontiers 2014 in the Lake Auditoria 11-12 June, 2014.
