HEC-RAS is widely used throughout the world as an industry standard hydraulics program. The lectures and lab sessions will concentrate on teaching and demonstrating principle of hydraulics and hydrology and how to use the software in practical engineering applications. By participating in this workshop, you will be able to construct a complete HEC-RAS model using the exercises provided in the course. Performance of channel network, bridge and culvert design and analysis will be conducted along with the sample projects. Introduction to flood studies using HEC-RAS will be provided. Participants will gain confidence in applying HEC-RAS to a variety of modeling problems from the lectures and exercises provided. Troubleshooting and how to review, verify and calibrate HEC-RAS models will be provided.
This workshop will benefit anyone involved with the river hydraulics, hydrotechnical engineers, water resources engineers, dam safety engineers, river forecasting engineers, watershed planning and advisory groups, mining and oil and gas resource companies, water policy decision makers, and other technical personnel responsible for open channels, flood mitigation, flood forecasting, water management infrastructures such as bridges, reservoir, spillways, and culverts.
