He has more than 30 years of experience in cyber security, including: creation of risk management and security policies, analysis of an organization’s greatest risks in the IT and information area, creation of safety and emergency response in compliance with applicable standards and regulations, Creation of risk and vulnerability studies and assessments, penetration tests and forensics.Throughout his career in the Danish military, John Foley worked as a generalist and specialist in strategic national and international communications systems and has also designed overall national strategies and policies related to cyber security and Computer Network Operations (CNO). Aron Sorensen holds the position as Head of the Maritime Technology and Regulation and is responsible for BIMCO’s technical affairs. He manages BIMCO’s role in marine, operational and related regulatory matters at a number of international organizations such as IMO, ISO, IACS and IHO. His tasks include negotiating, monitoring and disseminating relevant conventions and assisting in the development of international standards, regional/national requirements, and assessing the impact on BIMCO members. He led the development of the industry Guidelines on Cyber Security Onboard Ships, where the second edition was published in 2017. A new edition will be published at the end of 2018. He was also project leader in the development of BIMCO/CIRM industry guidelines on software maintenance, which was published in January 2018. Following a career at sea as a deck officer, Aron Sorensen taught apprentice deck officers at the nautical institutes in Denmark. After some years of teaching, he joined the Danish Maritime Authority dealing with navigation safety in Danish waters. In 2008, he joined BIMCO, which is a shipping association providing a wide range of services to its global membership of stakeholders, who have vested interests in the shipping industry, including shipowners, operators, managers, brokers and agents.

Kristoffer is Head of Section at the Ministry of Health in the Unit for Data, Infrastructure and Cyber Security. Among other things, he works with the development of the upcoming strategy for cyber and information security in the Danish health sector, which is to be launched before the end of 2018. Before joining the Ministry of Health, Kristoffer was a PhD Fellow at the Department of Political Science, University Copenhagen and did research on cyber security with a particular focus on the role of private companies. He defended his PhD dissertation, “Corporate Zones of Cyber Security”, in May 2018.

Before joining ITU, Rosario worked at the Research Institutes of Sweden (RISE SICS) focusing on the design and analysis of security protocols for IoT devices.

René Thomsen is an advisor in Danmarks Nationalbank and responsible for coordinating work in FSOR. He holds a law degree. Before joining Danmarks Nationalbank he worked in the Danish Bankers Association with digitization, cyber security and the critical financial infrastructure. Also he has been working as a civil servant for almost a decade in the Danish Ministry of Business.The increasing cyberthreat towards Denmark, the Danish financial sector and thus the critical infrastructure requires action, as the financial stability could potentially be threatened. Thus the Danish Central Bank (Danmarks Nationalbank) has taken a number of initiatives in Denmark in order to increase the overall cyber resilience in the Danish financial sector. Most of these initiatives have been carried out in the "Financial Sector-forum for Operational Robustness" (FSOR) which Danmarks Nationalbank established in 2016. René will share the most significant results achieved in FSOR and put this in perspective with regards to the National Strategy on Cyber Security.

Gert also serves on the Danish council for digital security (Rådet for Digital sikkerhed).Together with Security Lab, he helps companies deploy state-of-the-art cryptography in practice – for example in smart products (IoT), cloud solutions and privacy-preserving solutions.Gert has a PhD in cryptography from the Department of Computer Science at Aarhus University. He specialised in multiparty computation, public key cryptography and new protocols for identity management.

Tanel holds a Ph.D in computer science from Chalmers University of Technology in Göteborg, focusing on the area of logic-based AI and machine reasoning. He is currently working both as a professor of network software in Tallinn University of Technology and an architect of cybersecurity systems in Cybernetica.
