Overview: Conducting human subjects research requires knowledge of the ethical codes, federal regulations and state statues. Determining whether or not you are conducting a study that falls into the category of human subjects research is the first step.
Although the definition of human subjects research can look simple and straight forward, when beginning to work on a project the definition turns gray and there are often many questions. Once it has been determined that a human subjects study is being conducted more questions are generated such as: Are there additional regulatory criteria of which I should be aware? How is the study governed? Do my collaborators need their own protocol? What training is required and who determines that the training is appropriate? Do I need a 20 page written consent document? These questions and more will be answered during the course of this webinar.
