THE INNES 48 HOUR BUSINESS START-UP COMPETITION IS A PROJECT THAT HAS BEEN DEVELOPED TO INCREASE AND ENCOURAGE ENTREPRENEURS IN THE WAIKATO REGION TO TAKE THEIR INNOVATIVE IDEAS AND TURN THEM INTO A BUSINESS REALITY.
The challenge is named after the Innes family, who were pioneering entrepreneurs for Hamilton and the Waikato Region.
Innes 48 hour is a competition for entrepreneurial teams to design and launch a start-up company within just 48 hours. The competition will take place at WINTEC’s The Atrium in Central Hamilton over one exciting and action packed weekend. Starting on Saturday morning (March 30, 2013) and ending on Monday morning (April 1, 2013), the teams will first hear inspirational speakers talk about their entrepreneurial success and the how to on business start-up. Teams will then have 48 hours to innovate, create and launch a business. At the end of the competition the teams will present their newly created companies to a panel of judges. These judges will select a winner from each category. An awards ceremony will be held in the evening party on Monday ( April 1, 2013) where the top 3 innovative businesses will be praised and given their award.
