Paul Snively

Paul Snively

Speaker

Paul Snively is a frustrated physicist who discovered Zork as a teen and thought ‘if this is that much fun to play, how much more fun would it be to write?’ That began a love affair with Lisp and AI and, unbeknownst to him at the time, functional programming. Digging more into Programming Language Theory led to a love of types later. You’ll notice physics and, lately, economics still inform a lot of his thinking. You may also have seen him present at events such as Scala World, LambdaConf, and Strange Loop.
