Mozilla Festival East Africa is a free huge event that will bring together educators, innovators, learners and makers from East Africa and beyond to share experiences and build the web together laying a foundation for growth of the internet and information of technology in Africa. This will be an annual event that will later spread across Africa helping address the technological challenges faced in the African continent through meaningful collaborations.
The event will start on Friday at 3 p.m and on Saturday and Sunday at 9 a.m.
Come share and network with people from: Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Ethiopia, US, UK and many more.
We will have the opportunity to show case technological innovations, brainstorm ways to advance them and also give birth to new ideas. It will be hosted at Makerere University from July 11th - 13th 2014, under the theme, “Come with an idea, leave with a community”.
The web could do so much for people here in Africa, imagine if someone could build affordable technology that would allow someone in a village to access Internet with less hassle, we could teach some mentors who would teach such people how to access educational material online and maybe improve the literacy levels, Communication, Tolerance, Sharing and so much more. All this on an open web and maybe using open hardware.
Mozilla Festival East Africa will be a mix of teaching, making, coding, sharing, learning, hacking and celebrating. Join us for three exhilarating days of forging the future of the web
