What would happen if 600 Methodist college students gathered together to listen to God’s call on their lives and to discern the futures where God beckons them? What if the doors of ‘vocation’ were thrown wide-open to include creative arts, mission and service, theological education, and radical hospitality? What if you were invited, even compelled, to partner with others to make a difference in the world now? Does the future seem brighter now?
United Methodist connection, and is sponsored by the Division of Higher Education of the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry.
NEXT is by students, for students, created by utilizing the gifts of the broad collegiate community. All United Methodist college students, campus ministers, and chaplains are encouraged to participate in NEXT for a weekend of fellowship, worship, and inspiration.
Through a series of short talks, speakers and leaders will discuss innovative discipleship and will challenge students to consider their own next steps in their communities and through future vocations. Students and leaders will be engaged together in dynamic worship, imaginative play, and studio-group discussions in order to dream and to make plans for what they are called to do after NEXT. Exhibitors and sponsors will provide information about ministry and service internships, theological education opportunities, and ways to connect more deeply with the United Methodist Church. The event will also include a service plunge and worship concert in downtown Denver on Saturday night.
