Last November, industry leaders, disruptors, creators, distributors and investors gathered in West Hollywood for the day-long “paidContent Entertainment: The Battle for the Digital Home.” This year, we’ll bring the same mix together for an incisive look at the state of media and entertainment today. At a time when TV Everywhere is a catchphrase, more devices are connected to each other and the net, and the cloud is becoming a real home for TV, movies, music, and books, we’ll look at what it means to have Entertainment Everywhere—and how it’s changing everything.
Among the topics we’ll explore: who pays, who profits from having Everything Everywhere; the impact of the FCC’s broadband policy; the status of connected TV as we head into the holidays and 2012, including Apple’s plans—and the way the Motorola acquisition could change Google TV; how programmers and multichannel operators are trying to protect pay TV; the momentum for streaming subscription services; advances in targeted advertising; and whether the music industry is finally taking full advantage of digital. We will bring together industry leaders and disruptors, emphasizing the best of what’s being done now and what needs to happen for everyone to make the most of the opportunities ahead.
