Pycon Ireland is a Python conference organised by the Python Ireland Community and will consist of two days of talks, and workshops. In past years we had one day of talks, tutorials & workshops, and one day of sprints. This year, there will be a mix of talks, tutorials, workshops on Saturday and Sunday, and sprints will be held two days after the conference.
Following the success of our third event last year, attended by over 320 delegates, PyCon Ireland will be held in Dublin again this year. The minimum expected number of delegates this year is 300.
The focus of the conference is threefold:
To mobilise our community and develop our internal networks
To showcase Python Ireland as a vibrant community
To highlight the recent advances of Python in the enterprise
This conference format will be personal, informative and friendly. Our aim is to present a mix of both world class python leaders and showcase Irish talent.
Our goal is to create an inclusive, respectful conference environment that invites participation from people of all races, ethnicities, genders, ages, abilities, religions, and sexual orientations.
This year we are delighted to introduce our "Diversity Programme" to provide grants to cover travel, accommodation and conference tickets to encourage those who require financial assistance. For more information, see PyCon Ireland 2014 Diversity Programme.
We also based our Code of Coduct on PyCon's Code of Conduct on Github.
PyCon Ireland is Irelands largest open source developer conference focused around the Python programming language.
Join over 300 Software Developers from Ireland and all over Europe.
This years PyCon Ireland 2014 will be held on Sat 11th - Sun 12th October in the Ballsbridge Hotel. Followed by two days of Sprints on Mon 13th and Tuesday 14th October also in the Ballsbridge Hotel.
