Dubai is one of the seven emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates (UAE). With the largest population (2,104,895) in the UAE, and the second-largest territory (4,000 km2), Dubai is a world-class centre for business as well as tourism.
Its strategic geographic location, on the edge of the Persian Gulf, established its importance as a commercial hub in the early 20th century. Today, Dubai’s chief economic focus has shifted from oil and trade to real estate and financial services. Dubai is a unique global destination, replete with innovative architectural wonders and critical commercial purpose.
The city of Dubai, which has been rated one of the best places to live in the Middle East, is an undeniably worthy host for Sibos 2013; it is the most innovative city in the Middle East—and perhaps the world. Sibos will take place in the Dubai World Trade Centre, located on Sheikh Zayed Road, which runs right through the heart of the city.
