Slush is one of the top startup events on the globe, focusing heavily on Northern Europe and Russia. In 2012, Slush attracted $40 billion worth of venture capital, some of the world’s top media, plus 3,500 attendees.
We’ve seen Slush grow up before our eyes. From its infancy, the small 300-person gathering of local entrepreneurs has evolved into one of the top startup events in the world. When Slush turned five last year, it attracted more than 3,500 attendees, 800 companies, 300 investors and top media like the BBC, WSJ, and TechCrunch to Helsinki – all despite some quite unsavory weather. A good start, as some might say.
But we don’t want to become the biggest startup event in the world – we want to become the best. For us, this means an increased focus on setting up more one-on-one meetings, coordinating matchmaking and recruiting, plus arranging a series of more targeted events, sessions and dinners, not to mention throwing amazing parties and more to help make connections happen.
Finally, as a non-profit event, Slush is a true collaboration by the local startup community. It's put together by a large group of local serial entrepreneurs, angel investors, professional event organizers, startup founders and employees, students and other volunteers.
November is not far away, and we welcome you to share it with us in Helsinki.
