What is TEDMEDLive Streaming?
TEDMED Live streams program content that has been carefully curated to be inspiring, provocative, and relevant to the future of humanity’s health. We broadcast the entire program, direct from the TEDMED stage, in high-definition video, via the Internet, live and on-demand, to accommodate schedules around the world.
Who is TEDMEDLive Streaming available to?
TEDMED Live Streaming is available to everyone with an interest in the future of humanity’s health.
Free: in the spirit of collaboration, the entire program is free for teaching hospitals, medical
schools, government agencies and approved non-profits.
Paid: for organizations beyond those listed above.
How is TEDMEDLive Streaming experienced?
TEDMED Live Streaming is made available for personal or group viewing via personal laptops, tablets, mobile devices, as well as classrooms and auditoriums – Live and On-Demand.
Each of 9 TEDMED Session lasts approximately 90 minutes and comprises 5-7 carefully curated talks on an important and/or provocative theme of health and medicine. You and/or your community have total flexibility on which Session(s) to experience.
Program content directly from the TEDMED stage to personal laptops or mobile devices -- Live or On-Demand during the week of the live event.
Program content directly from the TEDMED stage into classrooms or auditoriums for people to experience in groups, Live or On-Demand during the week of the live event.
Opportunity for approved institutions and organizations to convene their own subject matter experts to facilitate further discussion centered on the specific TEDMED Session(s) viewed. Recommended formats: panel discussions, interactive dialogues and debates. Your gathering should be centered around the TEDMED Live Streaming content as the focal point.
Any costs associated with organizing a Group Viewing are the responsibility of the host organization.
What TEDMEDLive Streaming is NOT?
While we enthustiastically provide access to the TEDMED streaming content to those on the frontlines of health and medicine around the world, it is important that the usage of TEDMED Live Streaming maintains the expectations outlined above, and maintains the integrity of its intended use. Examples of usage not permitted are provided below.
It is not an “independently organized” TEDMED or TED event (i.e. TEDx).
It is not an opportunity to duplicate or create a separate TEDMED event (i.e. Hive, Great Challenges, etc.).
It is not a license of the TEDMED brand.
It is not an opportunity to invite outside speakers to give a “TED” or “TEDMED” Talk at one's organization.
It is not an opportunity to video-record and publish a TED or TEDMED Talk.
It is not the opportunity to create a separate program outside the Session themes.
It is not for commercial gain. Any costs associated with organizing a Group Viewing are the responsibility of the host organization. Attendance fees are not permitted.
It is not scheduled outside the week of TEDMED.
Use of TEDMED Live Streaming requires that all affiliates adhere to the TEDMED Live Streaming Brand Guidelines.
Your TEDMED Live Affiliate Name
The name of your Teaching Hospital, Academic Institution, Government Agency, Non-profit, Library, or Company will follow the “TEDMEDLive2014” Brand, as you can see here. This is the “Affiliate” name you should request in your application to us. Do not request or use the name of a city, state, or other location.
