We are honored of the favour gained by the Romanian Society of Cardiology (SRC) to organize, in partnership with the International Society of Cardiovascular Ultrasonography, “The XIX World Congress of Echocardiography and Allied Techniques” in Sibiu, Romania, 10-11 May 2014.
The Romanian Society of Cardiology resumes to the tradition of organising international reunions of echocardiographers – activity which was started in the 1980’s at Fundeni Cardiology Clinic and continued through annual “springtime” symposiums led by RSC’s Echocardiography Working Team. Common sessions and lectures realised along with the European Association of Echocardiography remain noteworthy. Through this Congress, Romania “polarizes” an elite of echocardiographers geographically found in vicinity or far away, and the most important aim is to stimulate the information exchange and communication between scientific partners, between teachers and students (the didactic aspect of the meeting is self-implied), between friends...
The Congress takes place in the position of which nowadays echocardiography had become integrant part of the clinical cardiology. Its territory had extended outside of the echocardiography laboratories – emergency rooms, surgery rooms, catheterism and electrophysiology laboratories. This “expansion” increased medical community’s interest for theoretical deepening and method practical use.
