BES-TEG aimed at promoting and facilitating communication and interaction between topical ecologists to enable inter-disciplinary transfer and development of knowledge and skills; and provides support for early career researchers while filling-in policy gaps. After six successful Early Career Research Meetings, BES-TEG are organizing a 7th meeting scheduled to take place at the University of York, on the 14th and 15th of August 2014. Day one will focus on Ecology and Ecosystem Processes, while day two will focus on Practical Applications and links to Policy such as conservation, livelihood, policy and development. All early-career researchers; both PhD and Post-Docs; are welcome to present their tropical ecology related research with a poster and/or oral presentation. There shall be a competition for both with prizes. This event will take place at Derwent College and the accommodation at Alcuin College (See map below)
Keynote: Time allocation for keynote speeches is 30mins and 10mins for
Talks: Oral presentation will last for 15mins followed by 5mins
Posters: Posters should be printed at A0 size. All posters should be
displayed 30mins before the start of the meeting.
Prizes: The top 3 posters and presentations will be awarded prizes.
Feedback: Every talk presenter will receive feedback from the audience.
Programme: Copies of the detailed programme with the running order of
sessions will be sent out by the 20th of July 2014.
Meal (Optional): We shall be having a meal-out on Thursday the 14th of
August at 8pm in York. This is optional with an additional fee of £25 per
person (drink inclusive).
