Learn how to write web content that works. We’ll look at the way people read online—from computers, tablets and mobiles. You’ll learn techniques for planning, designing and writing online content. And you’ll discover why writing for the web is different to writing for print.
This course is suitable for anyone who writes for their organisation’s website, intranet or blog. It is not a copywriting or business writing course, but shows you how to apply those skills to web content.
What you can expect from our training
Active training, not just a presentation
Working in pairs and with an iPad (which we supply), you not only do some writing and review exercises—you’re actively involved in the training. You work with a partner to prepare short presentations and contribute to teaching 2 of the 4 main course modules.
100+ page book of workshop notes—not printed PowerPoint slides
Electronic materials, including all the ‘before and after’ examples we use during the workshop
Templates and checklists to help you produce better content
Take-home exercises so you can practice and develop your skills
A facilitator who really knows her stuff
Dey Alexander (from 4 Syllables, our partner in this workshop), has 20 years' experience working on a wide range of web projects. Her current work is a mix of user experience design, inclusive design and content strategy.
